Sergeant Gabe Meszaros Retires!

October 25th 2021 – Josh Meszaros

Please join me in congratulating my dad, Sergeant Gabe Meszaros, as he retires from the Bridgeport Police Department after 25 years of service. Throughout the years he has served in many roles in the department, one of them being the founder and head of the Bridgeport Police Explorers. Through this program, he has mentored hundreds of inner-city young adults, guiding them towards a life of service to those in need as well as keeping them off the streets of Bridgeport. He served as an amazing role model to so many who have come through the program, and continues to put others before himself in his everyday life. He has made his entire family, especially Gabe, Jacob and I so proud to call him dad. Enjoy the short time off as you transition into a new job, and know that the 25 years you’ve given to the city were well worth the blood, sweat, and tears.

Gabe proudly served in the Unites States Army directly out of high school. He was a Fairfield Police Explorer forging a path for hundreds of youths in the years following his service. Gabe was the director of the NERLEEA Cadet Academy, served as the Chief of the Easton EMS service, and was the director of the NERLEEA SWAT challenge for many years.

Congratulations from your NERLEEA family!!!
